Currently, approximately 166,000 people in the UK are living with Parkinson’s disease – a brain disorder that damages dopamine-producing neurons. Typically, symptoms begin to appear when the brain cannot make enough dopamine to control movement properly. It is also progressive, meaning the changes it causes in the brain become more pronounced over time.
Parkinson’s care at home offers personalised, nurse-led support for those living with the long-term condition.
With an experienced carer by your side, you’ll have access to the care you need, while maintaining independence and dignity in the home you love.
And with different home care options available – like short-term respite care, or full-time live-in care – you’ll receive exceptional care, completely tailored to your needs.

Meet our live in care team
Our regional care managers have extensive experience in the industry, and work closely with our care managers to ensure your loved ones receive the highest quality of care.
"As Regional Operations Manager, I’m proud to support families across the south of England, including London, Surrey, East Essex, Kent, Essex, Oxfordshire, Hampshire and Cornwall.
I started working in the care industry over 25 years ago, taking on a variety of roles before joining The Good Care Group in 2019. I love seeing the difference excellent home care can make in the lives of our clients. It’s so rewarding to watch them achieve personal goals, and live life on their own terms – and it’s great to be part of such a fantastic team of skilled professionals within the care industry."

All of our carers complete a training programme developed by in-house clinicians before being assigned to a placement. Plus, they’ll receive additional enhanced training for complex care needs.

Sabah Shah
Clinical Lead, The Good Care Group
"I’m Sabah, the Clinical Lead for the Good Care Group. I joined The Good Care Group in August 2024 and bring over nine years of experience in health and social care. My career in healthcare started with a simple goal: to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.
Over the years, I have built on that foundation, gaining expertise through a variety of roles and challenges that have shaped my approach to delivering high standards of care.
I am a registered nurse with the NMC and I have worked in care for over nine years. I started as a Nurse, working in both hospital and community settings, where I supported patients with a range of acute and chronic conditions as well as end-of-life care."
Short term care or respite care
We’re proud to offer flexible Parkinson’s care at The Good Care Group, designed to suit your lifestyle and needs. Whether that’s 24-hour live-in care for more complex needs, or as short-term care, or respite care, which allows a family carer to take a much-needed break.
Short-term care services can also provide the opportunity to experience how live-in care works and whether it is the right choice for your loved one.
Costs of Parkinson’s care
While specialist Parkinson’s care typically carries a higher cost compared to other home care services, live-in care can offer better value than a traditional hourly service. With other domiciliary care providers, “extra” charges can exceed the price of a fully-personalised live-in service.
Our Parkinson’s care is typically in line with – and sometimes more cost-effective than – residential home care. It provides a level of dedicated, one-to-one attention that a care home simply cannot replicate, ensuring your loved one remains in the home they cherish.
