Live in Care

Multiple Sclerosis Care

Personalised MS care

We understand that Multiple Sclerosis (MS) symptoms can be changeable, so care needs to be flexible to enable clients to maintain as much independence as possible, particularly important for those who are diagnosed in their younger years.

Through a detailed initial assessment of needs we design a person-centered live-in care service which is flexible and supports clients fluctuating needs.  Clients are able to live in the comfort of their home, with live-in carers who are trained to manage the full range of MS symptoms.

MS expertise

We have relationships with leading MS charities, such as the MS Society and the MS Trust whose expertise is highly valued in helping us to deliver the highest standards of care for clients with MS.

Our carers are trained to provide support with mobility, hearing and speech problems or dizziness, tremors, pain or fatigue. We work with our clients to build daily routines around needs, wishes, preferences and symptoms.

Short-term respite and holiday services

Because MS is a condition that fluctuates, many people live independent lives and do not need a full time live-in carer. We provide a short-term respite service to allow a family carer a much needed break and a holiday service where our professional carer can accompany clients and their family on holiday to provide additional support - in the UK or overseas.

These services offer unrivalled one-to-one assistance and support from expertly trained carers.

Specialist nursing and medical care

Supported by our specialist nurse, Dr. Jane Pritchard, our professional care teams support clients with nursing care at home. All our professional carers are qualified to manage and administer medications and support with a number of complex medical interventions.

We understand that complex medical care can require equipment and other adaptations to the home. Our dedicated regional care team will liaise with doctors, district nurses, OTs, physiotherapists and other health and social care professionals, to manage all health care needs to ensure a holistic and multi-disciplinary care plan is in place.

Round-the-clock managed service

Our MS care service can be provided as 24-hour live-in care, day care or a short-term respite service – whatever is right for you and includes:

  • Dedicated care team led by regional care manager
  • Full assessment before care starts
  • Bespoke and flexible care plan
  • Specialist support and expertise - 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
  • Liaising with GP’s and other professionals involved in care provision
  • Meal planning and household/domestic tasks
  • Social activities and lifestyle enhancement

  • The respite and holiday service has been a blessing. I can have the support I want when I need it, and I am fully in control of the service I receive. The Good Care Group has never let me down.
