Raising Awareness for World Alzheimer’s Day

World Alzheimer’s Month takes place every September. This is a global opportunity that encourages people to raise awareness, educate and support people affected by dementia.  At The Good Care Group, many of our clients are living with Dementia and our Carers work incredibly hard to provide exceptional care to ensure they live happy in the comfort of their own home. As a way of showing support The Alzheimer’s Association suggested for people to wear purple to raise awareness. It was lovely to see the employees at The Good Care Group get involved through wearing the colour purple, baking delicious cakes ...

Helping Others Get Active in August

August has always been a very active month for The Good Care Group. Each day, all of the teams would receive an email that contained guidance and inspiration with the aim of getting everyone moving – and to encourage carers to get clients moving too as this has many health benefits. It was lovely to see the positive feedback and inspiring stories we received from our carers, who had managed to either increase their own activity levels, or helped their clients to get active. The Good Care Group Employee Awards 2022

Each year The Good Care Group organises employee awards to recognise and celebrate members of our teams from across the business.  It provides the opportunity for anyone to nominate the people they feel are outstanding in their role and who demonstrate our company values. There were a variety of award categories, giving us the opportunity to recognise not just individuals but teams too, and to celebrate the full range of skills we have within the business.    Congratulations to this year’s winners!  Employee of the year – Kaycee Zach (RSA / On Call Manager) Quality of life award – Jean ...

Spending Quality Time With Our Clients

At The Good Care Group, live-in care provides the opportunity to spend meaningful time with your clients to ensure they have the best quality of life. Unlike working in domiciliary care where, due to the time pressures,  you may not get the chance to spend as much time exploring the outdoors and experiencing all the things your client enjoys.    One of our Carers, Michelle,  shares how she spent the day in the sunshine with her client Mrs D:  “With a bit of respite in the temperature, we struck whilst the iron was hot! Following Mrs D having an express ...

Step into Care – Success Story

The ‘Step into Care’ Programme offers the opportunity to people who have gained valuable experience caring for friends and family to step into a professional caring role. The programme involves nine days of training including hands-on applied learning, e-learning, reflective practice, workshops and practical learning to ensure that the very best care is delivered to our clients. Christine, our client’s daughter, shared some wonderful feedback on the way Alex (who recently completed our step into care programme) takes care of her Mum. We are ever so grateful to hear such kind words.  Christine says: “I had not visited the house ...
