Cost of Mobility Care | The Good Care Group

The cost of mobility care

As we get older, mobility concerns or frailty can prevent us from doing the things we love. Mobility issues can significantly impact the way we wish to live our lives, resulting in a loss of control and independence.

At The Good Care Group, we recognise that if a loved one is living with mobility issues it can be a worrying time for you and your family. A loss of mobility raises not just safety concerns but also means that family members may have to provide increasing levels of care to ensure their loved one can live well in their own home.

Our mobility care services mean you can live comfortably in the comfort of home whilst maintaining as much independence as possible with the right level of care and support. Learn more about the cost of mobility care and how you and your family can receive the support you need.

How much does mobility care cost?

The cost of mobility care at home is determined by several factors, including the type of care you choose and the frequency of the visits. A comprehensive live-in care package will cost more than occasional visiting or respite care. There may be additional fees if you require clinical care from a nurse-led carer.

Mobility live-in care from The Good Care Group starts at £1,295 per week for full-time care from six hours a day. Other options are available for different levels of care.

The cost of mobility care at home is typically in line with – and sometimes less than – what you would pay for residential care. All with the added benefit of receiving one-to-one tailored care, something that is difficult to achieve in even the best care homes.

Contact our friendly team to arrange for a free home care assessment. One of our trusted Care Advisors will meet with you and your family to discuss your care needs and how we can support you and your family. Once we have a better understanding of the support you require, we can provide a quote for the weekly cost of care.

Our prices are always transparent and never include any hidden fees. Since we are a fully managed care provider and regulated by the CQC, you also won’t have to worry about agency fees.

Available funding for mobility care

To help cover some or all of the costs of your care, you may be entitled to either social care funding provided by your local authority or healthcare funding provided by the NHS.

You may be eligible for funding from your local council to cover the cost of mobility home care, depending on your financial circumstances and your care needs. Your local authority will only fund care at home (referred to as social funding) if your assets are worth less than £23,500.

If you have had a care needs assessment and have an identified healthcare need, you may be eligible for NHS Continuing Healthcare funding (CHC). This is organised by your local Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) to support you to receive care in your own home. It is important to note that CHC funding is not means tested, so even if you exceed the threshold for social care funding, you may still be eligible for CHC funding from the NHS.

Many families are faced with having to fund the care they receive themselves (referred to as self-funding care). For these families, there are options to help finance care at home, including a Care Fees Annuity or an Equity Release scheme.
