Claire Curtis
Regional Care Manager,
I have over 18 years of experience in the care industry and started my career working for Hampshire county council. During the 13 years I worked for the council, I worked with a range of clients over 60, living with a variety of physical and mental health conditions, however mostly clients were living with cognitive impairment. One of my main roles was as a multidisciplinary partner, responsible for facilitating hospital discharge. My responsibilities included ensuring clients’ needs were met in line with family expectations. I gained many different skills whilst working for Hampshire county council and found it rewarding transferring skills I have learnt onto other members of the team. I educated clinical staff to ensure they understood the Mental Capacity Act and the implications on service provision.
I have supported many vulnerable adults living with dementia and I am passionate about supporting people with their personal journey to ensure their lives are stimulating, fulfilling and meaningful.
As your Regional Manager in , I am accountable for the service delivered to my clients and the support we provide to families. I have a team of dedicated care managers in Cornwall who work with you day to day to ensure that in partnership with you we create and deliver a high quality, holistic care plan which enables you to maintain choice and independence through personalised care and support. Your dedicated care manager will work with you, family members, health care professionals and the professional carers assigned to you to enable you to stay safely and happily in your own home and community. Through regular contact with you, both face-to face and via telephone contact, they will ensure the plan of care meets your evolving needs.
I joined The Good Care Group in July 2018 as a Care Manager and in April 2020 I was promoted to Regional Manager. I believe live-in care to be the best option for those who need long-term care as it promotes independence and companionship. It enables couples and individuals to stay in their own home with personalised one-to-one support which is difficult to achieve in other settings.
