Good Care Month: Meet Eilidh Douglas
As part of Good Care Month, we’re celebrating the incredible people who make exceptional home care possible. This week, we’re introducing Eilidh Douglas, one of our dedicated Care Managers in Scotland. Since joining The Good Care Group in 2021, Eilidh has brought a wealth of professional experience, personal understanding, and genuine compassion to her role, supporting both clients and live-in carers every step of the way.

Here’s what Eilidh has to say:
“I’m Eilidh, a Care Manager for Scotland Region 5. I joined The Good Care Group in July 2021. Every day, I have the privilege of supporting our incredible live-in carers to provide compassionate, high-quality care, helping clients remain safe, independent, and comfortable in the place they love most – their own home.
Care has been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. I started working in Health and Social Care at just 16, inspired by helping my family care for my grandmother at home at a young age. Before his passing 4 years ago, I cared for my dad through his journey living with dementia, recurrent strokes, diabetes and other complex health conditions, supporting him right through to the end of his life. That experience gave me a deep understanding of what families go through and continues to shape the way I support both our clients and our carers today.
Over the past 17 years, I’ve worked across a variety of care settings, supporting older adults, younger adults, and people with complex care needs. I’ve been fortunate to gain experience in areas including dementia, palliative care, spinal injuries, tracheostomy and ventilator care, PEG feeding, autism, learning disabilities and mental health, and many other complex conditions. Alongside my SVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care and PDA in Management, I’m also a qualified Moving and Handling Trainer, which allows me to mentor and develop others within our teams.
What I love most about my role is building genuine relationships with clients, families, and carers. Being able to offer reassurance, guidance, and a listening ear during some of life’s most challenging moments is something I never take for granted. Knowing that I can make even a small difference to someone’s day is what motivates me every morning.
.
Outside of work, I’m a proud fur parent to my gorgeous black Labrador, Kobi, and my two adorable bunnies, Benzel and Bonnie, who certainly keep life fun and full of personality! I love spending quality time with my family and friends, and I truly believe that kindness, laughter, and compassion can brighten even the most difficult days – both in life and in care.
A fun fact about me is that I’m also a trained Beauty and Massage Therapist. I love learning about all things beauty and wellness, especially vegan and cruelty-free products that are kinder to both our skin and the planet. I enjoy keeping up with new innovations and believe that looking after ourselves and looking after the world around us can go hand in hand.
I’m incredibly proud to be part of The Good Care Group and to work alongside such dedicated colleagues who share the same passion for delivering truly person-centred care.”
