‘Outstanding’ live-in care in Greater London
The Good Care Group has been providing high quality live-in care to clients in London for over 10 years from our central office in the heart of The City. Our care is focused on keeping people safely and happily in the comfort and familiarity of their own home, whilst improving their overall health and wellbeing. Care is provided on a one-to-one basis and is highly personalised reflecting not just an individual’s care needs, but their choices, wishes and social preferences so they are able to maintain as much independence as possible.
We are the only live-in care provider in London to have been rated ‘Outstanding’ by The Care Quality Commission in all five key measures – safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led. We know this provides families in London with peace and mind that their loved one is receiving the best possible care.
For those living with specialist conditions, like dementia, Parkinson’s, Multiple Sclerosis (MS) or for those requiring stroke care, cancer care or palliative care, our expert care teams are highly trained to provide care and support that positively enhances quality of life, enabling people to live well in their own homes.
Our nurse-led care in London for those living with complex medical conditions is lead and supported by a dedicated Specialist Consultant Nurse, who works closely with our care teams to ensure we are consistently improving our clients health outcomes.
Whether you have mobility and frailty issues, are recovering from an operation and need convalescent care in London, or you simply require companionship care at home, our comprehensive live-in care service ensures you can live a fulfilled and meaningful life.
Our approach to delivering OT-led care at home, supported by our in-house Occupational Therapist enables faster discharge from hospital to those coming into our care, whilst ensuring they have a comprehensive plan of care with all the equipment they need to live well at home, whilst significantly reducing the risk of falling.

Staying at home with high quality live-in care in London
According to a survey conducted by the Live-In Care Hub, 97% of us given the choice would prefer to carry on living at home whilst receiving the care we need. However, when families are faced with the realisation that their loved one or family member needs increasing levels of care and support, many still feel the only option is to move into a care or nursing home. Whilst there are many good care homes in London, live-in care is fast becoming the preferred choice for those who wish to continue to live in their own home, whilst receiving the care and support they need to have a good quality of life. There are many other compelling benefits to receiving care in your much-loved home as opposed to enduring the upheaval and disruption that comes from moving into a care home.
Highly personalised one-to-one care just cannot be provided in a care home and the way you choose to live your life will be restricted by imposed routines – when to get up, eat your food and when to socialise. For couples, live-in care means you can stay together as a loving couple with the care and support you need, something that is not guaranteed if both of you move into a residential care home. Live-in care for couples is a very cost-effective option when compared to needing two packages of care in a care home – with live-in care in London there is only a nominal additional fee to provide care to a couple.

What does a live-in carer provide?
Our professional carer will provide a range of live-in care services throughout London:
Providing discreet and sensitive personal care
This can include the task-orientated aspects of caring for someone, like bathing and getting dressed, but also those that promote self-esteem, like having your nails maintained, or your hair styled.
Companionship as and when you need it
Our carers will provide companionship whilst ensuring your privacy is respected. We ensure that a perfectly matched carer shares similar values and interests to make life interesting, stimulating and enjoyable, whilst being there for you to support your emotional and psychological needs.
Managing and administering medications
Our professional carers are trained in medications management and use an electronic medications system to ensure all medications are managed proactively and effectively. They will also collect prescriptions from the pharmacy.
Ensuring safe mobility in and around the home
We have an in-house Occupational Therapist, Jackie Cooper, who will provide expert guidance and advice as to what equipment can help improve safe movement and mobility around your home, whilst minimising falls. Jackie is well placed to provide guidance and recommendations on home adaptations that aim to improve the way you live your life in your home.
Specialist nurse-led care
We provide nurse-led care which means our professional carers are trained to monitor and identify any changes in your health, responding appropriately and avoiding any unnecessary hospital admissions. As part of our commitment to delivering a high-quality home care service, we monitor and measure health outcomes to ensure we continually improve the care we provide.
Planning and cooking meals
Meals will be planned and cooked according to your choice, preferences and nutritional needs, all served at a time that suits you.
Facilitating social arrangements in the home
Your carer will ensure you can invite friends over for socialisation and celebrations, providing the support you need to enjoy yourself and not worry about organising anything.
Trips and visits out of the home in your local community
Our carers know how important it is to ensure you can continue to do as much you wish and that you remain connected to your local community – whether that is a stroll round the local park or attending clubs or groups in the local area or visiting friends or those shops you always have.
Domestic tasks
This includes cleaning of all rooms and vacuuming throughout to keep your house to the standards of cleanliness and tidiness you always have.
Caring for your much-loved pet
Carers will happily support looking after your pet, including taking dogs for regular walks.
How we provide live-in care in London
There are several different situations when live-in care can be used to support your care and support needs, including:
- 24-hour live-in care for when round the clock care is needed to ensure a person can continue to live well in their own home.
- Respite care can provide a family carer with a much-needed break from caring for a loved one, or can be used as an opportunity to see how live-in care works and whether it is right for you and your family.
- Short term care or intermediate care following discharge from a London hospital or for those needing post-operative rehabilitation.
- Complex care of medical and specialist conditions like dementia, Parkinson’s or Multiple Sclerosis can be supported with 24-hour home care – there is no need to go into a care home to receive this level of care.
- End-of-life/palliative care which ensures a person’s needs and preferences are met until the very end of their life.
- Emergency care at home for those who need an urgent live-in care arrangement put in place following unexpected surgery an accident or sudden illness.
Care management in London
Our professional carer will provide a range of live-in care services in London:
A fully managed live-in care service
We provide fully managed and regulated live-in care across London which offers families reassurance at a time they need it most. Unlike introduction agencies who are not regulated by The Care Quality Commission (CQC), all our professional carers are directly employed and managed by us. We ensure they are supervised by an experienced Regional Manager and Care Manager, with support from our clinical experts and central office team – 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Expertly trained care teams throughout London
Our professional carers complete our industry leading training programme which has been created with leading charities and experts and goes well beyond industry standards. This enables our professional carers to support a range of conditions affecting older people, including complex conditions that require more monitoring, care and support. From training, through probation, into placement and beyond our carers never stop learning new skills that ensure they can deliver the quality care our clients should expect, whilst finding new ways to further enhance the level of care they provide.
A local dedicated Care Manager
Whilst we operate nationwide, our approach to live-in care in London ensures you have a dedicated Regional Manager who has accountable for the service we provide, with a dedicated Care Manager who will be available to you and your family, as well as our care teams on a day to day basis to ensure the live-in care we provide is to the very highest standards.
Unrivalled levels of support
Our management team in London provide unrivalled levels of support. Each care manager only has a small portfolio of clients to support, enabling the care team to provide a highly personalised and quality live-in care service in London, whilst clients receive more levels of monitoring and day to day support.
We take a holistic and multidisciplinary approach to caring for our clients in London, working and liaising closely with other health professionals included in your care, including GP’s, hospital discharge planners, physiotherapists, speech and language therapists and district nurses.
Our team has forged strong relationships with discharge teams at the following hospitals across London:
- Charing Cross Hospital (Hammersmith)
- Chelsea and Westminster Hospital (Chelsea)
- Guys and St Thomas’s (Southwark)
- Hammersmith Hospital (Hammersmith)
- St George’s Hospital (Tooting)
- The Royal Free Hospital (Hampstead)
- The Royal London Hospital (Whitechapel)
- University College Hospital (Fitzrovia)
- St Mary’s Hospital (Paddington)
- North Middlesex Hospital (Edmonton)
- University Hospital (Lewisham)
We work collaboratively with these discharge teams to ensure fast and safe discharge from hospital, freeing up hospital beds throughout London, whilst ensuring a high-quality live-in care service is in place that results in unnecessary hospital readmission. Much-needed reassurance for all involved.
Lucy Scott
Regional Care Manager,
I am Lucy, I have worked at TGCG since 2019 where I joined as a Care Manager. I then became a Senior Care Manager before starting my current role as a Regional Manager in April 2022.
As a Regional Manager I work with my team of experienced care managers to ensure our clients are able to remain at home with the support of our professional carers. We work together and adapt the care to ensure our clients are safe, cared for and are at the centre of everything we do for the whole of their care journey with us.
My background is emergency care. I worked as a paramedic for 22 years before leaving to embark on a move into social care. I have worked in a dementia setting, learning difficulties, supported living and as a registered manager for live in care.
Downs syndrome with dementia is a particular interest to me bringing memories of some very special people to have touched my life.
I am a volunteer for Re-engage which is a charity for older people experiencing loneliness. I am also just beginning my volunteer training as a buddy for Macmillan which provides support for people with cancer and their families.
Why choose The Good Care Group?
The Good Care Group is dedicated to delivering exceptional live-in care services, consistently achieving the highest standards in quality and service. We are proud to hold a range of industry accreditations and awards, ensuring clients and their families have confidence in our care.
A perfectly matched care team
A live-in care service usually involves two carers working a two-week rotation. They will be carefully matched working with you and your family. We make sure they are skilled and equipped to meet all your care and support needs. Our focus on matching means the care team chosen share common interests and backgrounds. We know this means life is enjoyable for everyone. Your care team really get to know you and your needs, which means you get consistency of care.
Expertly trained carers
All our professional carers are required to complete our leading training programme before they care for our clients. Our programme has been created with leading charities and clinical experts. It goes beyond mandatory requirements in the care sector. Carers are then equipped to provide high-quality care and support for those living with specialist conditions. Our carers never stop learning new skills to further enhance the care they provide.
Continuity of care
Unlike an agency we employ our carers. This means they are committed to us, as we are to them. Carers enjoy the security of being employed, which means they stay with us longer. Those who work for agencies move around more. For families this means that you get continuity and consistency of the same care team caring for your loved one. This means high-quality care can be achieved with improved outcomes and no disruption to your loved one’s life.
In-house clinical experts
We have a dedicated team of in-house clinical experts. This includes a specialist consultant nurse, who also provides Admiral Nurse services to those living with dementia. Our management team consists of nursing professionals. They guide our carers to provide safe and effective nurse-led care at home. We also have our own in-house Occupational Therapist (OT) who works closely with healthcare professionals and our care teams. Our OT provides guidance and advice that enables people to live well in their own home with any equipment they may need. These experts lead, monitor and support our care teams to delivery best practice nurse-led care at home.
Innovative care technology
Unlike any other live-in care provider, we have our own online care community. Families, healthcare professionals and carers can access up to date information about the care being provided. It enables more effective monitoring, which means issues can be responded to efficiently. For our families it provides a reassuring window into the care their loved one is receiving. Our carers also use the online community to share ideas and support each other. It provides a vital connection which is important when remote working. Carers will use the online community so their clients can enjoy time online. This includes video calls with family, so they feel connected. Clients can use it to shop online or browse the web.
Improving health outcomes
Every decision we make is driven by delivering improved health outcomes for our clients. Our digital technology allows us to predict risk and shape the care we provide. We measure health outcomes.
We want to know we are improving the quality of our clients’ lives every year.
Our health and well-being aim to reduce:
- Challenging behaviours
- Antipsychotic drugs in dementia care
- Falls in the home
- Hospital admissions
- Re-admission to hospital
- Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs)
- Chest infections
- Carer stress
- They aim to promote:
- Independence
- Well-being
- Excellent nutrition and hydration
- Enjoyment in life
Highest service rating from care regulators in England and Scotland
Unlike introduction agencies we are fully regulated in England and Scotland. This means the care and support we provide is regularly inspected. We are the only dedicated live-in care provider in England to achieve an ‘Outstanding’ rating by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). We have achieved this rating in all five measures – safe, effective, caring responsive and well-led. In Scotland, our service has been inspected by the Care Inspectorate (CI). It has achieved the highest rating of a 6 (Excellent) for quality of care and support and 5 (very good) for staffing, management and leadership. We know this provides families with peace of mind that their loved one is receiving the best possible care.
A fully managed service
Families benefit from our fully managed service delivered by care experts. This means you do not need to worry about supervising and managing the carer looking after your loved one. Our professional carers are supervised by an experienced care manager and supported by clinical experts. We provide this support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Your dedicated care manager will be on hand to support you, your loved one and our carer teams. We invest in our care management team to ensure they have enough time to give the support everyone needs. With our fully managed service, families do not have the burden of managing the care arrangement themselves. We know this means families can have peace of mind, whilst enjoying quality time with their loved one. They do not have to worry about the tasks of caring.
Local teams with national coverage
We operate throughout England and Scotland with a local approach to management of our teams near you. Each dedicated care manager local to you has only a small number of clients to support. This means they can provide higher levels of monitoring and support than other home care providers. It also means a highly personalised approach to care can be delivered.
