On working in Scotland: “Every placement is a new adventure”

We have live-in care placements in many beautiful and appealing locations, including Scotland too. Our Professional Carer Judith recently progressed to a Rapid Responder role in Scotland having worked for The Good Care Group for over 4 years. Over this time, Judith has built relationships with different clients and finds this side of her work very rewarding.

Judith says “I get a certain gratification from working in live-in care because my total attention is on one person. You have the opportunity to build a rapport and I love that.”

There are many benefits of working as a live-in carer. For Judith, it’s being able to care for her client on a one to one basis, really focussing on building companionship.

Going to work is actually my way of socialising. When I’m not working, I miss my client. It’s good for me and I love the company. I live on my own so live-in care is perfect as it enables me to build relationships.”

Judith lives in Paisley but has travelled to work all over Scotland which is another aspect of her role that she loves. She considers every placement a new adventure and is always taught something new. Judith has found that every client has a different lifestyle and personality.

“I love Scotland which is why I moved here. I love the people, I think they are warm even though the weather is cold. The Scotland team are great; Rosalie is my Care Manager and she is always there for me.”
