Celebrating milestones, Sarah’s 5 years with The Good Care Group

At The Good Care Group (TGCG), our commitment to outstanding care goes beyond words, it’s at the heart of everything we do.

Sarah’s journey with TGCG is a testament to dedication, compassion, and the difference one person can make. Over her five years with us, she has provided exceptional care to clients across the country achieving carer of the month as well as completing her NVQ 3 Diploma in Adult Care. We recently sat down with Sarah to hear about her experiences, the moments she cherishes most, and how she’s been supported both professionally and personally throughout her time as a live-in carer.

I was really drawn to TGCG’s strong reputation for delivering high-quality, person-centred care. The emphasis on dignity, respect, and compassion stood out to me right away, as did the supportive culture where carers are truly valued as part of the team.

The structured rota system and guaranteed hours give me a real sense of stability, something that mattered even more at a time when everything around us felt so uncertain. The travel and accommodation arrangements also make it much easier to focus fully on my work.

The training I have received has always been thorough and practical, giving me the confidence to deliver safe and effective care. I take part in regular online training and yearly refresher courses, which help me keep my knowledge up to date. These sessions also give me the chance to visit the office and put a face to a name, which I really enjoy; it makes me feel more connected to the wider team. I’ve also completed my NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care, which was a huge milestone for me, and I’m proud of how it’s strengthened my skills and knowledge.

One of my fondest memories was when I had the privilege of accompanying a client on a holiday to Tenerife three years ago. It was such a special experience, not just for the client, but for me as well. To see them enjoy the sunshine, new surroundings, and moments of relaxation away from their usual routine was incredibly rewarding. It reminded me how meaningful it is to support clients in living life to the fullest and not just day-to-day care, but also creating lasting memories. That trip will always stand out as a highlight of my time with TGCG.
