Nathan runs for Dementia UK
Nathan Cherokoff, Head of Client Services at The Good Care Group, has decided to put himself through his paces by running London’s Landmark Half Marathon in aid of Dementia UK.
Nathan describes himself as a “very part-time runner” but he wants to raise as much money as possible for the dementia charity, who support individuals and their families across the UK who are living with dementia.
Nathan’s role at The Good Care Group means that on a daily basis, he speaks to prospective clients and their loved ones about their dementia care needs and how it is affecting their lives.
On describing why he chose Dementia UK has the charity he wanted to raise money for, he said: “For the last eight years, I’ve worked in the home care industry and have seen first hand how people reach out to us for support for themselves or a loved one who is living with some form of dementia. The work that Dementia UK does is vital in supporting those that are really feeling the effects of the condition and need help with managing all aspects of their loved one’s life, which is why I felt that I wanted to go the extra mile (or two) and do this challenge to raise money for this great cause..”
He continues: “I have done a half marathon before and miraculously managed to run just outside two hours, so my aim this time is to run within the two-hour mark, as well as raising as much money as possible for Dementia UK.”
The London Landmark Half Marathon takes place on 2 April. If you’d like to donate to Nathan’s race, you can visit his Just Giving page here.
Good luck, Nathan!
