The Good Care Group to the rescue

With a variety of care packages on offer, The Good Care Group can be called on to help in almost any situation where you or a loved one need support.

Take our client who had been living with a leg ulcer back in her home country of Nigeria. She had family members both in the UK as well as in Nigeria, who arranged for her to have a virtual assessment to assess her mobility so that the right equipment would be in place in her apartment during her stay in the UK and for ongoing support following her surgery.

Using our concierge service, the care manager was able to support the family in finding a private GP in the UK.

Once she arrived, she underwent private surgery in a London clinic. After successful surgery, she was given assistance with pain relief and advised about future treatment plans.

She was in the hospital for three weeks and was then discharged to the apartment which was set up with the equipment she required. After discussing many of the options available, we were able to pair her up with our carers so that she could receive live-in support under our Specialist Care Service offering.

She was referred to our in-house Occupational Therapist(OT), Jackie Cooper, who visited her in the hospital and made arrangements to see her after she had been discharged. Jackie worked alongside the hospital-based and private physiotherapist teams to ensure that the right equipment was ordered for her to receive after discharge from the hospital. Jackie and the carers from The Good Care Group were on hand to assist her in aiding in her convalescence at home. She plans to return to Nigeria  and meanwhile continues to make progress with the support of the specialist care she has received from our carers, care manager and OT.
