Here at The Good Care Group, we’ve been running our hourly care services in London for four months now and have already seen an increase in carers and clients. We are very excited to grow the service this year and also welcome more amazing carers to the team.
Viviana, who is part of our team of hourly carers, has been supporting her client on trips whilst our live-in carers are on their breaks.
Here is an insight into a day in Viviana’s life as an hourly carer:
“I met my client on a cold Friday in December 2022 and as soon as I introduced myself to him, he started talking to me like we have known each other for a very long time. He is very fond of stained glass, and was very excited to show me around the house and show me the two frames of stained glass art that he has.
Day by day we spend time talking about art, music and gardening. One day Hellen, our client’s live-in carer, asked me if I could take him to the river, which he was really excited about. That day was beautiful, cold and sunny. Wrapped up warm we walked to the river and found a seat to observe people walking by.
We visited Kew Gardens. How amazing, I’ve never been there before. He guided me to Kew and when we went inside he led the way – he is an expert. We visited the Temperate House, full of plants from different parts of the world, The Great Pagoda, with Dragons adorning the roofs, and walked around the park looking at the ducks and peacocks. It was a lovely day and we can’t wait to go again to see the Orchid Festival in the Princess of Wales Conservatory that will be open in February.”
