The Queen’s Jubilee lifted spirits across the nation. There were street parties, concerts, family gatherings and best of all, smiles up and down the country. For our Professional Live-in Carers it also created an excellent opportunity to make the weekend really special for their clients.
“We had an amazing celebration”
Says Beata, our Professional Live-in Carer who had a wonderful day celebrating the Jubilee with her client. “We had a little garden party, fresh air, sun and blue sky! Cucumber sandwiches, home-made victoria sponge cake and a small gathering of friends, family and carers. Also a very special visit from a nation’s favourite bear, Paddington Bear!”
Having the time to celebrate special occasions can really enhance your client’s quality of life, and in return you get to see firsthand the difference your care has on their wellbeing.
At another placement, a Jubilee cake was made and beautifully decorated. “We are by no means professional bakers but we tried our best! Dorothy had been talking about this cake all week and planned to take it to a garden party for the Jubilee on the weekend.”
Celebrating moments with your client can enable you to feel more connected and is a great way to build relationships. You do not necessarily need an excuse to bake cakes or enjoy spending time in the garden. Live-in care gives you the time to create memorable moments in the comfort of the clients own home. How many people can truly say that about their job?
