Nursing Care at Home | The Good Care Group

What’s included in our nursing care?

The Good Care Group provides nurse-led care, which differs slightly to nursing care. Nurse-led care enables our specially trained carers – who are closely trained and monitored by our in-house experts – to deliver delegated health care tasks.

Whether you are living with dementia, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s or any other complex health condition, our nurse-led care is designed to provide you with the practical and flexible support you need without limiting your independence or way of life.

We know how important it is for people to retain choice and control in life. Our professional carers can provide a range of services in your home to help you live more independently whilst improving health outcomes:

 Delegated healthcare tasks

Our carers are expertly trained and overseen by a registered nurse so they can perform delegated tasks such as insulin administration, catheter flushing and PEG feeding.

 Medication management

Our carers are trained in medication management and use an innovative eMAR system to ensure all medications are managed proactively and effectively. This can help improve health outcomes, reduce pain, manage symptoms and prevent dangerous medication interactions.

 Sensitive personal care

Our professional carers can provide discreet and sensitive support with bathing, toileting, grooming and other personal care tasks so that you are always looking and feeling your best.

 Planning & cooking meals

Meals will be planned and cooked according to your choice and nutritional needs, all served at a time that suits you. If you enjoy cooking or baking as a pastime, we encourage you to be as active as you wish to be.

 Domestic tasks

Our carers will take on any household duty for you so that your home is kept to the high standards you expect. This can include everything from dusting, washing up, and ironing to running errands or picking up medication.

Companionship as and when you need it

Our carers will provide companionship whilst ensuring your privacy is respected. You will be well-matched with a carer who shares similar values and interests to make life more interesting, stimulating and enjoyable.

 Safe mobility around your home

An occupational therapist will be available to provide guidance and expert advice on improving safe movement and mobility around your home, whilst minimising the risk of falls.

What are the benefits of nursing care at home?

We believe there’s no place like home to receive the specialist care and support you need. Here are just some of the life-changing benefits of receiving nursing care in your own home:

Bespoke care and support

Our nursing care home care is guided by you and how you wish to live your life. We tailor the care we provide to your goals, wishes and personal preferences so that you’re always receiving care that meets all your holistic needs. Your carer truly gets to know you and provides care on a one-to-one basis, something that is difficult to achieve in other care settings.

A personalised plan of care

We will work closely with you and your healthcare team to create a bespoke plan of support designed to meet your care needs whilst addressing how you wish to live your life. Our carers are there to help you live life on your terms, and that includes maintaining all the hobbies, interests and activities you love.

Stay in the home you love

Our specialist nurse-led care delivered by experienced carers allows you to stay in the comfort and familiarity of home whilst receiving the support you need. Staying in the home and community you love has far-reaching benefits for not just physical and emotional health, but overall well-being and quality of life.

Enjoy continuity of care

Unlike agencies, we directly employ our carers. Our dedicated carers enjoy the security of being employed, which means they stay with us longer. This allows your carer the time to really get to know and form a trusting relationship – whilst families enjoy the continuity and consistency of having the same care team looking after their loved ones.

Meet our experts

Our nurse-led care at home is overseen, developed and supported by our in-house consultant Admiral Nurse, Dr Jane Pritchard. This forms part of our Specialist Care Service where Jane shares expertise and clinical skills to enable our care teams to deliver our specialist care at home.

Dr Jane Pritchard

Jane has a wealth of nursing expertise having been a dementia care nurse for nearly 20 years. She provides clinical insight, medical assessment, home visit consultations and liaison with medical professionals to those receiving our private care at home service.

What health conditions can nursing care support?

Our nurse-led care service can provide support for the following complex conditions. If you require care for a condition, not on this list, do not hesitate to contact us to learn how we can support you and your family.

For those with terminal illness or who are nearing the end of life, we can also support with nurse-led care at home for palliative care needs and end-of-life care needs.

What our clients Say

"The specialist service provided by Jane Pritchard has been extremely beneficial, not only to mum but also to the whole family. From the very beginning we have needed practical, emotional and much support in signposting and advising us on our journey in coming to terms with, and understanding dementia. Jane particularly has acted to liaise with both the GCG team and family, and has been very supportive and respectful. She has been extremely proactive and has made efforts to understand mum’s and our family's needs."

We are fully accountable for the care we provide and we manage all aspects of your care, including hiring, training and supervising your carers. With a fully managed home care service, you will have all the reassurance you need about the quality of care being provided – making life easier for all the family.

Improved health outcomes

Our nurse-led care at home goes far beyond practical and domestic support – it can improve your health outcomes and quality of life. We use our digital technology, vigilance from our care managers and carers, and industry-leading training programmes to measure health outcomes and manage risks effectively. We are proud that our clients are five times less likely to suffer a fall or injury and have a reduced risk of other illnesses like chest infections, bed sores and urinary tract infections.

Expertly trained carers

Our recruitment process is so rigorous only 2% of candidates are successful. Once hired all of our carers are required to complete our leading training programme created in partnership with leading charities and clinical experts. It goes beyond mandatory requirements in the care sector and living with specialist conditions. Our carers never stop learning new skills to further enhance the care they provide.

Carers that provide specific nurse-led care are trained by our in-house Admiral Nurse, as well as our experienced care managers, who ensure they have the skills and know-how to provide safe and efficient delegated health care tasks.
