That’s why The Good Care Group has introduced the option of short part week rotas so that you can deliver the highest standards of care, enabling older adults to stay in their own homes and at the same time achieve a healthy work/life balance for yourself.

Working either 5 or 4 days, you will be providing tailored care and support to our clients in the comfort of their own homes.   If you are currently working professionally as a care assistant, domiciliary carer, personal healthcare assistant or similar, and wish you had more time for your clients, our short rotas offer an opportunity to build up a relationship with an ongoing client where you will have enough time to focus on what matters.

About you:

You might have professional experience as a support worker, or as a care assistant in a residential or domiciliary care setting.  Or, perhaps you have personal experience supporting a family member or friend.  If you share our passion for quality care, we’d love to hear from you.   Please note you must already have the right to work in the UK.  We cannot assist with any sponsorship or visa requests – including those applying for a health and social care visa. 

About the role:

Live-in carers live with a client for the duration of their chosen work pattern.  You’ll look after one person or at times a couple, following a person centred care plan where you’ll tailor your support to meet your clients’ needs.  Duties are likely to include assisting with daily activities, personal care, or support in managing conditions such as dementia, but also include cooking, cleaning and ensuring the smooth running of the household.  You could be working on average 6 – 12 hours per day based on your clients’ needs (please note your daily rate will vary depending on the agreed number of daily hours you are working).

As well as our part week care, we have a number of longer rota patterns to choose from ranging from 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off to 10 weeks on, 2 weeks off. Depending on the rota pattern you chose and following a client’s individual care plan, you will generally provide a daily average of between 6 – 12 hours care provision to your client.

Your role will include:
  • You’ll be matched with a client, providing tailored support and companionship to meet their needs
  • Following a client’s individual care plan you will generally provide a daily average of 10 hours care provision to your client
  • Managing medical conditions such as dementia, stroke and Parkinson’s
  • Assisting with personal care
  • Administering medication
  • Moving and handling
  • Cooking, cleaning and ensuring the smooth running of the house
We’re looking for:
  • Whilst you don’t need any formal qualifications, we do require a minimum of 6 months’ professional care experience in any care setting, such as live-in carer, domiciliary carer, care assistant, support worker, healthcare assistant or similar
  • A driver’s licence is an advantage but not a requirement. The client provides the car and the insurance, for you to be able to take your client for the occasional trip out or to go shopping
  • You must be flexible to travel to your client placement (UK travel expenses covered)
