Our award-winning services

The Good Care is a fully regulated and managed provider of home care services that empower people to live comfortably in their homes for longer. Our services include our award-winning, CQC-rated ‘Outstanding’ live-in care, nurse-led care, respite care and hourly care.

We believe in delivering the very highest standards of care by operating nationwide through close knit local teams. Keeping such small client portfolios allows us to offer a tailored service with higher levels of monitoring and support than other care providers can offer.

Unlike introductory agencies, we directly employ and manage our carers and match them closely to a client’s needs and interests. Each is supervised by an experienced manager and supported by clinical experts, as well as a 24/7 emergency helpline.

The Good Care Group is part of a family of home care brands in the UK, including Prestige Nursing & Care, Oxford Aunts and Comfort Keepers (Ireland).

History & values

The Good Care Group was founded in 2009 by Fiona Lowry, who was inspired to set up the company after a member of her family with dementia moved into a care home. Fiona recognised that many people with dementia have worsening symptoms when they move out of their homes because it takes away their independence, sense of security and familiarity. Given the choice, most people would prefer to stay in their own home.

Fiona found that there weren’t any care providers offering the quality of care she felt people deserved, and she found that others were having the same problem. So, Fiona resolved to change this herself by setting up The Good Care Group, becoming our first Chief Executive and opening an office in central London.

Our Founder’s ambition was to establish an organisation that was able to improve standards, professionalise home care and lead the way in the care sector. Fast-forward to the present day and we are now one of the only live-in care providers to be rated as ‘Outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission, as well as being one of the most awarded home care providers in the industry.

Over the years, we have achieved lots of milestones including starting our live-in care service in Scotland in 2012, creating an exclusive retirement living option in West London called The Good Care Group at Riverstone in 2018 and more recently launching our hourly care service in 2022.

We’ve come a long way since 2009, and we want to continue to maintain our exceptional high standards of delivering care and professionalising care work as a chosen career.
