Specialist Live In Carer Training
Expert training from the start
We expertly train our professional carers to understand what our clients really want and need. Our training programme is not just focused on the delivery of high quality live-in care; our carers are trained in areas of lifestyle enhancement to promote overall wellbeing. We want to make a positive impact on our clients’ lives.
All our carers, regardless of their experience complete a specialist and comprehensive training programme developed with leading experts to ensure best practice, before they are placed in a client’s home.
Our 17 module induction training programme encompasses everything from personal care, medications administration and first aid through to specialist training complex conditions, including dementia and Parkinson’s, as well as those that will enhance lifestyle including culture, communication and our unrivalled cookery programme.
The induction programme is delivered at our residential training facility and is a blended programme of learning that incorporates interactive workshops, e-learning and reflective practice. Following induction training all our carers receive on-going coaching and mentoring once placed in a client’s home to ensure they are able to deliver the quality of care our clients should expect.
All our training is cross-referenced with Skills for Care and supports the completion of our own unique professional qualification in health and social care, developed with our training partner NTQ UK.
Advance training on complex conditions
We provide our carers the opportunity to specialise in conditions that affect the elderly. With many of our clients living dementia, carers are given specialist advanced training in dementia to ensure the individual’s needs are totally fulfilled. We work partnership with the Contented Dementia Trust who train our staff in the SPECAL methodology. We offer advanced training in the management of depression and how to promote positive thinking. Our carers are also offered advanced training in the management of Parkinson’s delivered by Parkinson’s UK.
This is about much more than providing one-off training sessions and statutory refresher training, all our professional carers are provided with a clear pathway to professional development to ensure the very highest standards of care are delivered to our clients.
