The Good Care Group participate in the dementia debate

The Good Care Group will be presenting and exhibiting at this year’s 5th Dementia Congress, the UK’s lead dementia event being held at Bournemouth International Centre between 9-11 November.  Zoe Elkins, Head of Care at The Good Care Group will be leading a presentation titled ‘Enveloping care to promote happiness at home:  applying the SPECAL method in domiciliary care’ on our approach to managing dementia and the demonstratable benefits of delivering care to people in their own homes.  Zoe will present with the founder of SPECAL, Penny Garner who will highlight the benefits of the SPECAL approach.

The motion being proposed at this event by Martin Green of ECCA ‘Life-long care at home for people with dementia is an impossible dream’ will be opposed by campaigner and former carer Barbara Pointon .  The Good Care Group will be keen to support this debate and demonstrate the value that continuing to live life at home can bring for those living with dementia.  The event is supported by the Alzheimer’s Society and The Good Care Group’s Charity of the Year, Dementia UK.
